Open Weekend and Workshop at The Malta Florist

In January we opened our farm to the public for an open weekend, with farm tours and hands-on workshops. The farm tour included a walk through our fields and greenhouses, and every family went home with a bunch of fresh tulips grown on our farm.

Workshop 1: Edible Gardening

When we look at where our food comes from, we are able to understand how to nourish our bodies. In this workshop we talked about how you can grow food at home, and together we created a mixed herb and strawberry planter for everyone to take home. Great to use in your food preparation, but also aesthetically nice – and since we are a flower company, aesthetics are important for us.

Workshop 2: Flower Arranging for the Home

Embracing the seasons, our flower arranging workshop taught participants to create a gorgeous arrangement for the dinner table, using seasonal flowers and items from around the home, and everyone took their arrangement home with them.
